I’m Julia, a part-time farmer, full-time food-maker and -lover. I’ve spent years working on farms, urban gardens, restaurants, bakeries, and farmers markets while making tasty, seasonal food. I’ve decided it’s time to share what I’ve learned about seasonal food and the easy, delicious ways to prepare it with my community in and around Washington, DC.

Besides the catering and cooking classes I do independently, I also work as a:

  • Chef Instructor for COMMON THREADS, a non-profit that brings cooking classes to low-income children and families.
  • Cooking & Nutrition Club Teacher at the LATIN AMERICAN YOUTH CENTER, which serves at-risk youth in DC
  • Produce Vendor for LICKING CREEK BEND FARM at the Adams Morgan Farmers Market in DC
  • Occasional Contributor to DIRT MAGAZINE and JEWISH FOOD EXPERIENCE
